Ode To French Fries

French Fries, French Fries,
Yummy, Salty, French Fries
Will Work Very Hard For Fries

What a Weekend

So this week I have been working very hard to clean out my house of things Greg doesn't need and I don't want. So we have been selling quite a few things on Craigslist. I have been putting all the money we have earned so far straight into our college fund. We still have a long way to go until I can feel financial stable about going.
We stayed at Greg's parents house on Sunday and Monday. We celebrated Grandma Morleys Birthday which was tons of fun because I got to play with all kids. On Monday we visited our friend at the Royal Cafe and he was so happy to see us. We were so glad to see him too. We had Baklava and Gelato. And then went home to watch a movie.
It was a nice weekend. But it was very tiring and I'm glad to be back home. Also this weekend I got a used recliner and ohhhhh boooy I love to sit in it soooo much.

My First Quilt

Grandma Morley made us this beautiful quilt. It's my first homemade quilt. I am so excited. Ever since I was little, I was always jealous of people who got beautiful patch work quilts. And now I have my very own. I am so happy.

R.I.P. Cookie

I came home Monday night and found Cookie laying in her cage unmoving. I had accidentally left a window open over the weekend and it was very cold in the apartment and I had not given her enough bedding to make a cozy warm corner. And I don't think I gave her enough food to last four days with out me. I feel awful and guilty for not taking better care of her and for not taking her somewhere to stay for weekend. I'm really going to miss Cookie, and I don't think it's a wise decision to get another hamster so this is goodbye to my pets.
Goodbye Cookie you were a great friend and companion, rest in peace.

Home from Vacation

We came back from our vacation to Buffalo, Saturday night and we stayed the night at the Rowe's. On Sunday we went to the Fairport Ward to hear my family give talks and hear my brother Jake give his farewell talk before he leaves on his two year mission to Mesa, Arizona. Amy came too and I cried, I'm really going to miss him.

Mom fed 20 people for dinner and then I took Emma to see Celeste (Evil Jarret's sweet little sister, and Emma's friend) get baptized. I wanted to take Emma not only to support Celeste but to inspire Emma. Because she will be getting Baptized next year when she turns 8.
We spent the night at my parents house. Had breakfast with Jake and his GIRLFRIEND Kerianna (she won't admit it but I say she is). Then they left for the airport and Greg and I left in the cold for Wal-Mart biking on the canal path. It started to hail 3/4 the way there. So we were very frozen when we got there.
We bought groceries and other gadgets we need to make our house more usable (example: a wireless doorbell and an extension cord for using energy wisely). I worked really hard to stay under our shopping budget but it looks like I'm going to have to stretch some things if we are going to get more milk this week. I'm trying to save money as best I can, because I figure that if we can put $300 away every month we both can go to college full time by next year.
When we finally got back to Webster with all of our things late on Monday. It was a long wonderful weekend.

Weekend in Buffalo

I spent the weekend in Buffalo visiting with my new family. We left Friday afternoon and 5 of us squeezed into a truck and drove the hour and a half trip. We went strait into the city where we had a Rowe Family reunion at Aunt Barb's. It was a really cool house. It was once a warehouse type building and it was redone and decorated with the most intriguing of art. It was all eye candy for me. I met almost all of the siblings of the Rowes and I remember most of them but I get a little fuzzy on the spouses and I know none of the cousins yet. It was so much fun meeting everyone and spending time with my new brothers. (woah that's weird, Aaron, Dan, and Tim are now my brothers, it's gonna take some time getting used to that).
We spent the night in a hotel. I made sure to budget this week so that we could afford a hotel room up to $200 and the room was a very reasonable price. So I was very happy. In the morning after breakfast Greg and I spent a couple of hours in the hot tub enjoying our vacation. Then we had breakfast and went to the wedding.
It was a beautiful Catholic wedding and everyone said that the cathedral was so gorgeous but it was hard for me to tell when I've been to Italy and seen some really amazing ones, like St. Peter's Cathedral in Rome and I just remember how amazing that building was. I do admit though the St. Joseph's Cathedral in Buffalo didn't have any shriveled hands, encased holy fingernail clippings of a random saint, or a mummified body in the basement. So in that respect, yes the cathedral was very nice. The ceremony was definitely different it was my first catholic ceremony and I had no idea what was going on but what was said was very inspiring.
The reception was nice too. I was bored staying with Greg the whole time so I followed Mom around and got to know more about the relatives. We sat with Uncle Steve and Aunt Andrea, and I really like them. They were so fun to sit with at dinner. The food was great and it was all just wonderful.
It brought back a lot of memories and feelings about my own wedding again. And how I am so grateful to my Mom that she did a wonderful job of everything for under $500 and how amazed that everything was so perfect on a tight budget that even Greg thought it wasn't cheesy (which was what he was afraid of happening). Greg and I are very happy, and we are so glad to be married. Everyday is a joy and a blessing being in love. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you can see our countdown till we can be sealed together beyond "till death do us part".

Monday in Fairport

So on Sunday since we had brought all of our laundry to work on at home, we asked if we could spend the night so that we could visit friends on Monday. My pants were still in the dryer so we didn't start biking till late afternoon. We borrowed some of my Dad's bikes that he got from his sister. They were pretty cool. They were automatic which means we didn't have to changed the gears. We biked over to the school to say Hi to Stephanie and Amy. I couldn't get a hold of Stephanie but we caught Amy out the door.
We met her at Wegmans and then biked to the village to get gelato. On our way we met Steph and Chris walking in the park so it was good to see her again. Then continued to the Royal Cafe, but our favorite gelato man wasn't there. So we didn't stay there long. We decided to go to Applbees and get our favorite: Boneless Buffalo Wings and Lemonade. After talking lots and having fun we decided to separate and so we said our goodbyes.
We said Hi to family at the Rowes and had family home evening. Then we biked to my house and had dinner and family home evening there too. Although my family had a lot more fun with FHE. After the funniest game of BoBo Ski Whatin Tatin and dessert, Jake and I went on a very nice walk. By the end of that I was so tired I thought my legs would fall off.
It was an Amazing weekend.

Weekend With The Moms

So this weekend was Mother's Day, and I wanted to make sure our mothers felt loved. So I had ordered flowers from Proflowers.com (great place to get flowers delivered for a good price). Roses for Mama Rowe and Tulips for Mama Creedon. The thing that made me choose those was the box of free chocolates (cause honestly, who can enjoy flowers without chocolates?). I added cute little quotes and had them delivered the Friday before Mother's Day.
Our neighbors get stuff delivered to their house a lot. So while my mom was weeding the garden, she was thrilled when the delivery truck actually stopped for her. I knew that the Mom's would just love flowers so I was glad to make the financial sacrifice for them. Because they are so worth it.
So on Saturday we went over to the Rowe's to help with a service project. I stayed will Lacey because she had just gotten spayed and she was hurting. So that night after we saw Iron Man, Greg's Dad let us take the car home so we could come back for Mother's Day Brunch.
Then to make it fair, after church, we went to my house for Mother's Day Dinner. It was also Sarah's Birthday so we celebrated that too.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WAWAH!!!
I had a wonderful weekend and it still wasn't over...

But if you still want to see it you can contact me and I'll direct you.
It's called Headband.

Cookie's Return Home

So last night I decided I wasn't going to give up hope on Cookie. So I rigged her cage so that the playpen was wide open and I placed a handful of food at the opening. My theory was that if she had a mouth full of food she would want to store that food in her usual place inside the cage and then go about doing her usual cage business. I also set up a cereal box with food at the bottom and a tunnel leading in but not out just in case the first trap didn't work.
This morning I found her snuggled up in her bed. My theory was right. And apparently, running away from home made her really tired. So tired she doesn't even want to eat the raisin I gave her. But at least she is home.

Weekend with the Kids

So this weekend we had my two brothers and three of my cousins over. I had just cleaned the hallway when they came and they all tumbled upstairs and got used to the house. We played board games, video games, computer games, we went out on the balcony and Emma played with Cookie (who today decided to run away).
It was hard to feed 7 people when you only buy food for 2 so I had to find a creative way to stretch eggs for breakfast. So I thawed out English muffins the night before, and used 4 eggs to mix up a crepe and I cooked them on the griddles sliced them and put them on half the muffin with cheese. And everybody was satisfied. I was quite proud of myself. Dinner and lunch were easy, spaghetti and pizza.
It was lots of fun.

Barbie Cake

So there's a Spaghetti dinner and Cake Auction coming up to support the youth in our church building for activities etc. So I signed up to make a cake and I thought I would make a cake that would catch the attention of a lot of the little girls. I'm planning on making a Fairy Barbie Cake.
So last night I thought I would make a test cake... oh boy. So the cake baked perfectly. It was taking the rounded top out of the bowl that was hard. It broke in two. (Remedy: peel ALL edges away from bowl before pulling cake out.) So I thought I would just fix it with frosting. The Problem: the mixer was too fast so powder went everywhere, then the frosting was too runny and I put it on anyway. When I finally added enough sugar to the second try cake crumbs were all in it so it was uneven. And then the decorating frosting was to runny and went all over the place and I couldn't find the right design. (Remedy: Make frosting right the first time, and wait till first frosting coat has dried to add decor.) So now I need to buy more powdered sugar and hopefully I will get it right for the auction.
Cause even though the cake tasted delicious, it's the image that counts when it comes to money...
