One Week and One Day Ago

On February 29, 2008 my high school sweet heart and I were married. Kind of a random day, I know, but we are a very unique couple. Being married is like having a sleepover with your best friend everyday. You play games, laugh, and talk all night long, and then when you wake up the next morning you're startled at first to find someone sleeping in your bed. But then you realize he's yours, and you just want to wake him up so you can snuggle in closer. But being married is not just about the love and gratitude you have for your best friend, it's about hard work and compromise.

When I first started moving in before the wedding our apartment was a mess and even though I asked very nicely several times, my stuff stayed scattered on the floor. And he was consumed by the computer. So for the first week of our marriage, I cleaned up the apartment and sent him to work, I gave him tasks here and there in between the times he was on the computer. And now that I've cleaned and thrown out a lot, we actually have an office where we can sit at our computers and talk. I'm happy that the apartment is clean and he is happy that I cleaned it and now has a place to be comfortable at his computer. So it works for us both.

I'm really glad I married him.
